homicide investigation. >> she was found to have multiple stab wounds and it has been ruled a homicide. >> news of the stabbing death of mary hines brought tears from strangers and friends and neighbors. >> it is crazy. she did not bother anybody. she steadied herself and goes to church. it should not happen. >> she did not sound like she had an enemy in the world. she did not. she was a great lady. >> the murder is a surprise. most people believe she died after a fire swept through our row home thursday morning. her body was found on the first floor. firefighters say her smoke alarms worked but she moved slowly with a cane. according to neighbors, gas and electric were shut off at the home. >> we just thought it was an arson. then today we found out it was a

was crucial evidence. stephanie porter is a 12-year- old girl was targeted in isolated and a dark room. davon perry was one of three people who sexually assaulted a young and naive female. her will was overcome. she did not know what to do or how to get out of that situation. porter they saw her as an object as pray and that is how they treated her. she identified her attacker says tracy hank and faceins is charges and juvenile court. davon perry whow as then 24. his attorney asked not to base their decision on sympathy. there was supposed to be one

victim. the two individuals who did it confess. another victim was created. that is mr. perry. he argued that she misidentified her client as one of her attackers. i am not saying she is lying, i am saying she is confused. he also focused on the lack of dna evidence against p sayerry is no evidence showing my client did anything. he did not take the witness stand in his own defense, the jury has been deliberating for more than five hours. >> thank you. his victim's body was never found, but a baltimore county man is heading to prison for the murder of a 16-year-old girl. he was convicted in october. prosecutors say the two met on- line before arranging to meet in

person. outside court today, friends of the family express' the outrange -- outrage of the verdict and sentence. >> how do they know this girl is really dead? they did not have a body or dna. i think it is very circumstantial. >> the sentencing includes 30 years for murder and a 10 years for sexual assault. police are investigating the first murder of the year and anne arundel county. rob roblin has been following that investigation. he joins us with the latest. >> late this afternoon police released this picture of the man who was shot and killed in the back of his home. he is 36-year-old gregory sears. after an apparent robbery. it happened here anne arundel county.

after 2:00 a.m. police responded for a report of the shooting. >> the indication is he was in his driveway of the residence when he was approached by these two undone males who shot the victim and fled the scene. we are trying to gather information at this point and look for any potential witnesses. >> police say the victim talked with police before he was taken to shock trauma and told them he was shot after being approached by two suspects. a resident here says she heard what she thought was a gunshot. >> i heard a gunshot. i heard footsteps. that is about all i heard. >> they are trying to ascertain whether this was a targeted or random incident. we are seeking the public's assistance. a motive is under investigation. we have early information to go

drivers were forced to get off at the harrisburg expressway because of a two vehicle crash. the accident happened at around 5:30 shutting down all southbound lanes for nearly three hours. >> i saw the accident on my left. it was a flipped car. terrible. >> a chevy van was hit when the driver of another car tried to change lanes. it caused the chevrolet to flip twice. a 23 year-old woman was sent to shock trauma. >> it was kind of frustrating. i hope the girl is ok. that is my biggest concern. >> summit that was like to work because of the crash. she is a server that was effected by the backup. >> she was backed up like one hour and 10 minutes. we have customers getting on a thin line. it took a 1 hour 45 minutes just

police have released a sketch of one of the men involved in a disturbing robbery where two suspects held the victim at gunpoint and took him to atm's from the city to withdraw cash. the told the victim they have killed people before but would spare him if he cooperated. both were described as african- american males without facial hair. state troopers from the west minster are searching for a man after a robbery at a convenience store. there is a warrant out for the arrest of darnell webb, jr. this happened on the 700 block of phillips wrote. he beat the store clerk with a baseball bat before running out with an undetermined amount of scratch tickets. he fled the area in a chrysler sebring.
